COVID-19 and ENT Diseases

COVID-19 (coronavirus) disease is a vastly transmittable zoonosis produced by SARS-CoV-2 that is spread human-to-human by respiratory secretions. It was announced by the WHO as a public health exigency. The most sensitive populations, demanding mechanical ventilation, are the geriatric and people with associated comorbidities. There is an important threat of contagion for head and neck surgeons, otolaryngologists, anesthetists, dentists, maxillofacial surgeons and ophthalmologists, . A large number of patients do not have signs and symptoms (fever/respiratory), yet pose a real risk to surgeons
