Biography

Antonella Gallo - I hold a PhD in Geophysics of the Lithosphere and Geodynamics (2012) and a degree in Physics (2008) from the University of Trieste. I worked at University of Trieste as a postdoc fellow (2012-2018) and as a technologist (2018-2020). My research mainly focused on the analysis of seismic parameters from real time and non-real time data, and implementation of procedure for the rapid estimation of them. Since October 2020 I have been working at OGS as technologist. My activity mainly focuses on the delayed-mode quality control analysis and interpretation of oceanographic physical parameters collected by Argo profiling floats in the Mediterranean and Black seas. I apply dedicated methods and implement new approaches for the specific characteristics of the marginal seas (coastal/shallow and deep water), aimed at refining the methodology for the production of high-quality data to be included in international datasets for operational oceanography research purposes.
