Biography

Annunziata Pirro holds a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography earned from the University of Notre Dame, USA (2019). During this period, I collected in-situ data on board of several cruises in the Indian and Pacific Ocean and their analysis mainly focused on the study of ocean dynamics and air-sea interaction. She attended summer programs at NASA JPL and at ESA in Frascati honing my skills in satellites, and she also collaborated with the US Naval Research Laboratory in Mississippi for paper drafting. From 2019, as a researcher at OGS in Italy, her work focuses on the study mesoscale eddies, thermohaline circulation, and deep-water formation using glider and Argo Float data in the Mediterranean and Antarctica Sea. Her activities also include glider piloting, field-campaign design, and participation to national projects. From 2023, she is a member of the Task Team Storms and extreme events.
