Coastal Processes and Hazards

Coastal processes are the natural actions and changes that happen at the boundary between the land and the sea, like erosion (the wearing away of the shore) and sediment deposition (the buildup of sand and other materials). Coastal hazards are events or conditions that can be dangerous for people and property along the coast. These can include things like storms, hurricanes, flooding, and erosion, which can threaten coastal communities and infrastructure.
