Biography

Dr. Jieshan Qiu, Cheung-Kong Distinguished Professor of Carbon Science and Chemical Engineering, and Dean of Chemical Engineering College, Executive Chairman of the Academic Committee of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China. He is an internationally recognized research and thought leader in chemical engineering and carbon science. His research encompasses both fundamental and applied aspects of carbon materials and science, with a focus on the methodologies of producing carbon materials for energy storage and conversion, catalysis, and environment protection. He has published 800+ papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Mater., Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Energy Environ. Sci., PNAS, Nature Commun., Nano Energy, ACS Nano, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Joule, Matter, Chem, Sci. Adv., etc., with citations 54000+ times and h-index of 116 (Google Scholar), and his work has been featured on 69 covers of high profile journals. He has been invited to give 160+ plenary/invited/keynote talks in conferences and at universities and research institutes. He has filed 150+ Chinese and International patents, of which some have been successfully commercialized in China. He has been awarded 20+ prestigious prizes and awards including the 1st class award for fundamental research and industrialization technologies awarded by the Education Ministry of China. Currently, he is on the advisory boards of several high profile journals, including Chemical Engineering Science, Science China Materials, and Energy Technology, etc. He is a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher from 2018 to 2022 in a row, and an Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researchers from 2019 to 2022 in the field of chemical engineering, and Top 1% highly cited Chinese authors in the field of energy & sustainability in 2019 by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
