Biography

Jaime Orellana Barrasa is an  Associate Professor in the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid). He was a distinguished graduate of the University of Madrid, holds a Ph.D. and specializes in additive manufacturing and polymers, with a versatile background on graphene, hip prosthesis, bone cements, and W-based materials for ITER. With research stays at renowned institutions such as MIT in the United States, FAU in Germany, and both IPCB and UBI in Portugal, Dr. Orellana Barrasa has cultivated a global perspective on scientific advancements. His industry experience includes a tenure at GRANTA, a leading materials selection company in Cambridge (now Ansys). Notably, he spent six months studying in Shanghai, China, adding an international dimension to his academic journey. Recently honored with the First National Prize for the Best Academic Record in Engineering and Architecture in Spain, Dr. Orellana Barrasa stands as an exemplary figure, not only excelling academically but also earning recognition as a nominee for the best professor in his faculty.
