Yang Luo

Biography

Yang Luo is currently a Senior Research Scientist at Department of Materials, ETH Zürich. He is also an Honorary Professor at School of Energy Science and Engineering, Nanjing Tech University. He received his double Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Technology from the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2018) and in Applied Physics from City University of Hong Kong (2020). He is particularly interested in researching electrolysis for energy and environment, defect engineering of 2D materials, green chemical and physical technologies, and wearable electronics. He has completed previous postdoctoral research at the University of Hong Kong and Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa). He was awarded the Innovation & Technology Talent Fellowship of the Hong Kong Government (2021-2023), HK Tech 300 Innovation & Entrepreneurship Fund (2022-2023), Royal Society Chemistry Best Early Career Researcher in Nanotechnology (2023), Talents for Tomorrow's Chemistry medal of Chimie Paristech (2022), Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Seal of Excellence (2023), Outstanding Graduate of Beijing (2020), and National Scholarships of China (2019 and 2012). He has published 57 papers (22 first-author papers and 14 co-corresponding-author papers) in peer-reviewed journals including ACS Nano, Advanced Functional Materials, SmartMat, Nano Energy, Advanced Science, Small, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Chemical Engineering Journal, etc. He has an h-index of 23, and total citations of > 1200 (Google Scholar).
