Blood Infectious Diseases

Blood Infectious Diseases are caused by blood borne pathogens like viruses or bacteria. There are many different blood borne pathogens, including malaria, syphilis, and brucellosis, and most notably Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV) and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Blood borne pathogens like HBV & HIV can be transmitted through the affected person’s blood and other body fluids like semen, vaginal secretions, amniotic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid and any other body fluids that are contaminated with blood.
