Unlike antibiotics, antiviral drugs do not destroy the pathogen, but inhibits the growth and development of the virus. Vaccination is the best way to get-rid of viral infections rather than drugs, as vaccines immunizes the body and helps to fight against the infection.
Some viral infections include-

  • Common cold.
  • Influenza (flu)
  • Herpes.
  • Chickenpox.
  • Mumps.
  • Human papillomavirus (HPV)
  • Measles.
