Urinary Tract Infections

A Urinary Tract Infection, or UTI, is an infection that is caused to any part of urinary system, which may include kidneys, bladder, ureters and urethra. The chances of the urinary tract infection are high in women compared to men. Having sex may also introduce the urinary tract infection. Women with diabetes are more prone to infection as the immune system is weak. E.coli bacteria from the large intestine, sometimes get out of the anus, into urethra and bladder. If not, infection can even spread to kidneys. Precautionary measures must be taken to avoid the infection. Drinking plenty water helps in getting rid of infection.
