Blood Infectious Diseases

Bloodborne Pathogens can be viruses or bacteria. They are carried in blood and can cause disease in people. There are many different bloodborne pathogens, including malaria, syphilis, and brucellosis,m Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV) and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
Blood borne pathogens like HBV & HIV can be transmitted through the affected persons blood and other body fluids like semen, vaginal secretions, amniotic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid and any other body fluids that are contaminated with blood.
HBV & HIV can be transmitted through contaminated needles, mother to baby, sexual contact, body fluids etc.,
