Mirta Rubčić graduated in 2002 from the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, where she also obtained her PhD in 2008. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the group of prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. A. Müller at the Fakultät für Chemie, Universität Bielefeld, where she was introduced to the chemistry of large polyoxometalate systems. She is a Full Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb where she teaches General and Inorganic Chemistry. Her research interests include synthesis of functional materials and their characterization in the solid-state. She is currently pursuing several research topics including hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites as potential multiferroic materials, thio- and carbohydrazides along with their complexes and polyoxometalate-based hybrids as potential antibacterial and catalytic agents as well as studies related to different solid forms of pharmaceutically relevant compounds.
