Ray F. Feroz

Biography

Dr. Feroz currently serves as Interim President for the Venango Region Catholic School system. He retired as Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Human Services, Rehabilitation, Health and Sport Sciences (previously the Department Special Education, Rehabilitation and Human Services) at Clarion University where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in rehab administration, human services delivery systems, substance abuse, and did fieldwork supervision. He also served for 3 years as the president of the Clarion University APSCUF faculty union. Ray served for 18 years (1986-2004) as Director of Behavioral Health at the Oil City Area Health Center, merged into Northwest Medical Center and merged into the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Northwest. Ray served as the 2008 President of the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA) and 2009 President of the Pennsylvania Rehabilitation Association (PRA). In 2006 he was founding President of the Rehabilitation Counselors and Educators Association (RCEA), a division of the NRA, and was 2005 President of the NRA National Association for Rehabilitation Leadership (NARL). Since 2003 he has served as member and is the current president of the Venango County Human Services Advisory Board. He is the past president of the Board of Trustees for Warren State Hospital, and past Vice President of the Venango Area Chamber of Commerce. Ray also served as co-editor of the Rehabilitation Counselors and Educators Journal. He was instrumental in the 2017 design and launch of Clarion University’s highly successful Opioid Treatment Specialist certificate program. Ray was educated at the University of Pittsburgh, Boston University, and Kent State University. He is a US Army Vietnam-era veteran.
