Biography

Dr. Nicole Adams PhD, RN, CEN is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Purdue University School of Nursing in West Lafayette, Indiana in the United States. She has nearly two decades of nursing experience in the acute hospital setting in both bedside and leadership roles, providing her with expertise in healthcare systems. She takes a broader approach to systems in one of her primary areas of research; working with community coalitions addressing substance use and mental health at the local level. Dr. Adams is a co-author of the TASC curriculum and much of the material is based on her work and observations of the local coalition in her community as they improved their recovery-oriented system of care, including the development of the unique community system mapping process. She also works extensively with engineering, providing expertise in community engagement and health equity. Dr. Adams mentors and advises students on systems of care and community-engaged research.
