The term oncology means a branch of science that deals with tumours and cancers. The word onco means bulk, mass, or tumour, and logy means study. It includes radiation oncology, medical oncology, surgical oncology, and many others. The medical practitioner who is qualified to diagnose and treat tumours is called an oncologist.
