Biography

Haolin Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Beijing University of Technology. He completed his undergraduate studies in Clinical Medicine at Hebei Medical University of China from 2005 to 2010. Subsequently, from 2010 to 2015, he pursued his Ph.D. in the Department of Neurobiology at Peking University Health Science Center of China. During his time at Peking University, his research primarily focused on elucidating the role and molecular mechanisms of adult dentate gyrus neural stem cell microRNA-132/212 in opioid addiction.Following his doctoral studies, from 2015 to 2020, he embarked on his second Ph.D. journey at the Department of Biology at Drexel University, USA. During this period, he delved into investigating the early pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) by examining the imbalance of histone acetylation regulatory enzyme levels. In collaboration with his colleagues, Haolin recently conducted comprehensive visual electrophysiological tests on a large cohort of patients with orbital fractures. This research endeavor led to the discovery of novel and critical changes in the visual pathway that are sensitive to orbital fractures. His research interests revolve around exploring cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurological diseases.
