Biography

Valentina De Falco is Researcher at the Institute of Endocrinology and Experimental Oncology of the National Research Council of Italy and Adjunct Professor in General Pathology at the University of Naples “Federico II”. She graduated in Chemistry in 2002 and obtained the residency in Clinical Pathology in 2007 at the University of Naples “Federico II”. Since 2001 she has been involved in studying the different mechanisms of signal transduction dysregulated in thyroid cancer cells and mechanisms of resistance to kinase inhibitors. She is currently studying the involvement of the serine-threonine kinase p90RSK in resistance to anticancer treatments and its role in the phenotype of several human tumor cells. She is a member of the European Thyroid Association, the European Association for Cancer Research, and the Italian Society of Cancerology. In 2017 she was awarded the International Prize for the excellence achieved in studies on the Pathophysiology of the Thyroid from the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. She has published more than 30 papers in important journals recognized by the international scientific community and has been serving IJMS (MDPI) as a Topical Advisory Panel Member and Oncology Research (Tech Science Press) as Editorial Board Member.
