Biography


Sabine Matou-Nasri is a senior research scientist in the Blood and Cancer Research Department at the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC), Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She recently became an Affiliate Professor at George Mason University for the supervision of a doctoral project. Dr. Sabine Matou-Nasri has been active in the discovery of potential biomarkers of type 2 diabetic patients diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer for early diagnosis and the establishment of a tailored therapeutic strategy. She has also intensively studied survival signaling pathways and cell death mechanisms leading to apoptosis (i.e., programmed cell death) of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) stem cells for the development of safer therapy for relapsed AML patients. Her other biomedical fields include lymphoma, colorectal cancer, inflammatory disease like gastritis, and infectious diseases (MERS-CoV). In addition, she extensively investigates the anticancer effects of phytochemical compounds for new drug discovery. Thus, Dr. Sabine Matou-Nasri has 60 peer-reviewed publications and conducted 17 research grants as principal investigator and co-investigator. She has also co-supervised and supervised the research projects of 15 MSc and 9 PhD students.
