RADIOLOGY AND MEDICAL IMAGING

Diagnostic radiology involves the use of various imaging techniques, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans and ultrasound, to diagnose and treat diseases. Interventional radiology, on the other hand, involves minimally invasive procedures that use imaging guidance to treat a variety of conditions. Radiologists work closely with other medical professionals to provide accurate diagnoses and effective treatments. They also play a critical role in cancer care by using imaging techniques to detect and monitor tumours. With advances in technology, radiology has become an increasingly important field in modern medicine. From detecting fractures to identifying cancerous growths, radiologists are essential members of the healthcare team. CANCER IMAGING:Imaging is a medical diagnostic method used to diagnose, monitor, or to treat medical conditions. Cancer imaging techniques are used to diagnose the cancer. Some cancer imaging techniques are X-ray (plain film and computed tomography), Ultrasound (US), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), Single-photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) and optical imaging.
