My name is Laura Larue, I am a PhD student (East Paris Institute of Chemistry and Materials science/ University of Paris, France). My thesis explores the modification of polymers to create innovative fibrous and particulate nanomaterials. These materials are designed for advanced drug delivery systems aimed at improving the therapeutic efficacy of chemotherapeutic agents. By tailoring polymer surfaces and optimizing nanomaterial properties, I aim to enhance drug stability, bioavailability, and tumor-targeting capabilities. A significant part of my work involves the development of delivery platforms for pancreatic cancer treatments, one of the most aggressive and treatment-resistant malignancies. I employ techniques such as electrospinning and nanoparticle formulation to create systems capable of controlled release and active targeting. This multidisciplinary research bridges fundamental chemistry, materials engineering, and medical science, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for one of the most pressing challenges in oncology today.
