Biography

Junhua Hu is a Professor and a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He is the Director of the State Centre for International Cooperation on Designer Low-carbon and Environmental Materials (CDLCEM). He earned his Ph.D. in the Faculty of Engineering at Shizuoka University in 2009 and then joined Zhengzhou University as a teacher in Material and Science. His research interests focus mainly on new energy materials and devices for energy storage, including the synthesis and hybridization of nanocarbon, and applications in solid-state lithium-ion batteries, metal-air batteries, supercapacitors, etc. In material design and synthesis, he introduced the innovative concepts of “single-atom catalysis” and “defect engineering” into the new energy materials and electrochemical devices, and constructed the dialectical relationship between morphological structure and electronic defects in the catalytic process. Up to now, he has published more than 121 papers (IF>10), h-index 46. He won the second prize of the Henan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
