Prof. Dr. Ata Nevzat Yalcin is a distinguished professor at Akdeniz University’s School of Medicine, specializing in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology. He graduated from Ankara University, School of Medicine in 1985 and completed his residency in 1992. After serving as Assistant and Associate Professor at Pamukkale University, he became a full Professor in 2001. Since 2003, he has been at Akdeniz University.His research focuses on hospital-acquired infections, new antibiotics, antibiotic resistance, and pharmacoeconomics. Dr. Yalcin has published 180 papers, with 68 in SCI and SCI-expanded journals, and has an h-factor of 28 in Web of Science. He has also edited seven books and contributed to 35 book chapters.He has held executive roles in several professional societies, including the Turkish Society for Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology (KLIMIK), Turkish Society for Hospital-acquired Infections and Control (HIDER), and the Association for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases (BUHASDER). Dr. Yalcin is also an associate editor or board member for multiple journals, including BMC Infectious Diseases and Klimik Journal.
