The study of the evolutionary relationships between organisms based on DNA and RNA sequencing of their genetic material is known as Phylogenetics. The phylogenetic tree has two distinct characteristics: a rooted tree that shows the lineage of a common ancestor and an unrooted tree that shows the relativeness of an organism that does not share a common ancestor. The presence of divergence is symbolized by the branches.
