George Boskou is Associate Professor in Food Service Management at the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics and Vice Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Education at Harokopio University of Athens. He has a degree of Chemistry from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a postgraduate degree in Food Science and Nutrition and a PhD degree in applied biological sciences from Ghent University. He is a founding member of the Interdisciplinary Society for Food Hygiene (DEDYT) and the Scientific Society of Olive Encyclopaedists (4E). He is an external collaborator of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania and the Perrotis College of the American Farm School. He is a certified auditor of food safety management systems. His published work has more than 3000 citations. His research work is on food safety, total quality management, food legislation, food services, gastronomy and culinology.
