Dental Plaque

It is the formationn of a biofilm layer of microorganisms (mainly bacteria and also fungi) which develops on the surfaces of teeth. It is sticky colourless at first, later it forms a brown or pale yellow on the surface. It is mostly seen in between the teeth ,front of the teeth,or on chewing surfaces .Dental plaque also known as Microbial Plaque, Dental biofilm, bacterial plaque biofilm. Bacterial Plaque is one of the main cause for Dental decay and gum diseases, and this bacteria releases acids after you eat or drink. This Plaque develops when the food contains carbohydrates (mainly sugars and starches), milk, cakes, or candy which are frequently left on the teeth.
