Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)

Antimicrobial resistance happens when tiny living things like bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites change over time and stop responding to the medicines that are supposed to kill them. This makes it harder to cure infections, which can result in worse sickness, longer time in the hospital, and more deaths. While this resistance is a natural occurrence, it spreads much faster because people and animals are often using these medicines incorrectly or too much. This is now seen as a big problem for health around the world.
