Sasithorn Sirilun is currently Assistant professor in pharmaceutical sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the Faculty of Sciences, Burapha University, Thailand. She went on to gain a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a Ph.D. in Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Chiang Mai University. She also granted her doctoral fellowship from Thailand Graduate Institute of Science and Technology (TGIST), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Thailand. Her research area focuses on lactic acid bacteria and their applications, probiotics, prebiotics and synbiotics, fermentation technology and food biotechnology, as well as natural products from microorganisms and medicinal plants. Her research program focuses on how beneficial microorganisms (Probiotics) and their metabolites influence the health of living organisms, as well as how to develop functional products and natural products derived from microorganisms to promote and maintain health. In addition, she supervises Post-doctoral researcher, Ph.D., Master's degree, and Bachelor's degree students in the conduct of scientific research and research innovation, as well as the improvement of best practices in pharmaceutical sciences research.
