Biography

Baki Hazer received M.S. and B.S. degrees in chemical engineering from the College of Chemical Engineering, University of Istanbul, in 1972 and his PhD degree from Karadeniz Technical University, in 1978. He received the Royal Society of Chemistry and TÜBİTAK joint research grant at the Liverpool University in the United Kingdom. He received the NATO Collaborative Research Grant at the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering, University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1995–1997, and was Fulbright Visiting Professor at the same department in 1992–1993. He was a Visiting Scientist at The University of Akron in 2007. He had a science prize from Bülent Ecevit University Senate (2015) and an Honorary membership by the Turkish Chemical Society (2005). He is a Member of the Turkish Chemical Society. He is Member of the Editorial Boards of FOODS, Hacettepe Journal of Biology, Higher Education Science Journal (Yüksek Öğretim Bilim Dergisi), Asian J Appl Chem Res, Pollution, Bioremediation & Biodegradation Journal (PBBJ), SCIREA Journal of Materials is an international journal. He received ZOKEV science grant (Zonguldak) in 2023. He is specialized in active food packaging materials, soybean oil polymers and post polymerization reactions, nanocomposite synthesis, bacterial polyesters, block and graft copolymers, macro monomeric initiators, controlled leaving polymerization, and thermoresponsive polymers. He moved to Kapadokya University after retired in 2017. He still Works in laboratories in Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University as a visiting research scientist. He was chosen a pioneering chemist among 100 pioneering chemists in Turkey in a book published by Turkishtime 2021 ( www.sanko.com.tr ). H index 43, 233 published article and 6071 citations reported in web of science. 18. 03. 2025.
