Pawar is an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Department of Computer Science and with a joint appointment in Biology at Claflin University (HBCU/MSI), Orangeburg, South Carolina, USA with a Masters in Computer Science and a Ph.D. from Georgia State University, Atlanta, USA. He’s also an co–founder of a Connecticut based AI company, ChestAi; Georgia Research Consulting (GRC), Research & Training in STEM Studies, Atlanta, USA, a member of Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) collaborators, The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, and a research affiliate at Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Until last year, he was an Associate Research Scientist at Yale University, School of Medicine, Department of Genetics, Yale Center for Genome Analysis (YCGA), Connecticut, New Haven, USA. His dissertation/research is focused on big data (next-generation sequencing, microarrays, X-ray crystallography etc.) analysis with machine learning techniques (Neural networks, SVM’s, Restricted boltzmann machines, Clustering algorithms etc.).
