Toufik Boushaki is currently Associate Professor at the University of Orleans and CNRS ICARE laboratory. His research topics concern biomass combustion, gasification, control of flames, CO2 capture, plasma-assisted combustion, and pollutant emissions. He received his Ph.D in Mechanical engineering (2007) and DEA (postgraduate degree) in Reacting Flows (2003) from INSA of Rouen and CORIA Laboratory in France. From 2017 to 2010, M. Boushaki was a contractual researcher at IMFT (Toulouse) then at CORIA (Rouen) laboratories. He has worked on hydrogen combustion for EC engines and acoustic-combustion interaction for aeronautic applications, respectively. In 2010, he joined the University of Orleans as an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering field. In 2022, he spent 6 months at Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Visiting Scholar. He worked on new fuels (H2, NH3) in Reacting Gas Dynamics Laboratory in the Center for Energy and Propulsion Research. Toufik has 20 years of experience in combustion and energy recovery from waste and biomass, through national (CO2_EnergiCapt, CAPRI, C2-CARPOR…) and international (VERA, RenewValue Eranet Med II, OPTIOMASH…) projects. He is the author of 40 peer-reviewed publications. He is currently the secretary of French committee of IFRF (International Flame Research Foundation) and GFC (Combustion French Group) board member in the French section of the Combustion Institute.
