I am very pleased to invite you to participate in "The International Conference on Applied Animal Behaviour - Unveiling the Inner Lives of Animals". The analysis of behavioural traits is an important element in assessing animal welfare. In animal husbandry, a high level of welfare is essential for efficient food production. It is also increasingly demanded by consumers.
All this makes animal welfare standards one of the EU's important priorities today. Welfare issues mainly concern farm animals, but research and efforts are also being carried out to improve the living conditions of laboratory animals and non-domesticated species living in zoos. The conference will certainly be an excellent opportunity to gain the latest knowledge on animal behaviour and welfare, as well as to discuss the possibilities of applying this knowledge in practice.
