Dr. Halil Ibrahim SAGBAS is a dedicated horticultural scientist with a strong academic and research background in fruit breeding and characterization. He earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Horticulture at Atatürk University. His postgraduate and doctoral studies focused particularly on wild fruits, with an emphasis on morphological, biochemical, and molecular characterization, which has remained his core area of expertise. In January 2024, he joined Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Horticulture. In this position, he continues to mentor students and collaborate with fellow faculty members in national scientific projects. Dr. SAGBAS has contributed to five research and infrastructure projects, assuming leadership responsibilities in one of them. He has authored 27 articles indexed in Web of Science and holds a WOS h-index of 10. He is proficient in statistical software such as SPSS and is fluent in English. Dr. SAGBAS is known for his commitment to academic integrity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advancing sustainable fruit production systems through biodiversity-driven research. Currently residing in Muğla, Türkiye, Dr. SAGBAS continues to contribute to agricultural sciences with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and the conservation of genetic resources in horticulture.
