Biography

Asim K. Duttaroy is a Professor and Group Leader of Clinical Nutrition at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, Norway. His research focuses on feto-placental development and the cardioprotective effects of bioactive compounds. With over 500 scientific publications (h-index 64), 15 authored books, and supervision of 35 Ph.D./MD students, he is a globally recognized authority in his field.

Duttaroy holds numerous international patents, including the development of Fruitflow®—a tomato- derived anti-platelet compound and the EU’s first EFSA-approved functional food ingredient— now sold in over 55 countries. His work has led to the founding of companies in the U.K., Norway, and India.
He has reviewed more than 270 Ph.D. theses across the globe and is a recipient of multiple international awards. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Food & Nutrition Research and sits on editorial boards of journals such as Nutrients, Prostaglandins, Leukotrienes & Essential Fatty Acids, and Frontiers. He is also a member of the Royal Society of Medicine and a nominating panelist for the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
