Jacek Moskalewicz, Ph.D. is sociologist, works in the Department of Studies on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw, Poland. For over 30 years involved in alcohol and drug research as well as in psychiatric studies incl. epidemiology, policy-oriented studies, action research, social history. Member of the World Health Organization experts' advisory panel on drug dependence and alcohol problems. Consultant or technical adviser to international organizations including the WHO, EMCDDA, UNODC. Recipient of La Medaille de la Ville de Paris (1994), Jellinek Memorial Award (2001) and Chevalier Cross of Polonia Restituta (2004).
